Loss is the one experience every human being shares. No matter who we are or where we come from, we all face the same inevitability: we will lose someone we love. The difference lies in how we grieve, how we remember, and how our cultures teach us to say goodbye.
When someone close to us dies, grief rarely arrives as a single emotion. It comes in waves—anger, guilt, regret, sadness, longing, and sometimes, if we’re lucky, closure. While death is universal, the rituals and expressions surrounding it are deeply personal and cultural. That truth sits at the heart of Spellcaster.
Because if we’re honest with ourselves, most of us would bring a loved one back if we could.
Spellcaster imagines a world where that impossible choice is suddenly possible—and asks the harder question: should we? And what are the consequences of defying the natural order?
